Running and Flying
Hello All,
It is our last night in Kenya and we just returned to the Guest House in Nairobi after a full day of meetings, running errands, shopping, and eating. We were able to meet up with a friend that we met at Kijabe who is leaving on the same flight we are. We have enjoyed spending the day with her and getting to know each other better. God has put some great people in our path here.
We found out the other day that the Nairobi Marathon is tomorrow, and some people we met at Tenwek gave us the connections to sign up for the 10K with them. So... we are randomly running a 10K tomorrow morning! The last few days have been full of random events - movie night in Nairobi on Thursday; a complete Indian experience including music, food, and a visit to a Hindu temple on Friday; and dinner at the "Carnivore" restaurant tonight, which included tasting Ostrich and Crocodile. Our life feels a little strange right now. :)
I hope you all are doing well. We are really looking forward to catching up with everyone over the next few weeks. I am planning to continue this blog when we return to the States. It really helps me process my thoughts and I'm very much enjoying it. There is still so much to think, pray, and write about regarding this trip and more. As all of you who know me can affirm, I never run out of things to think and talk about anyway... :)
I may have time for another quick update tomorrow, but if not, thank you again for your prayers, support, and encouragement during this trip! We could use prayers for travel mercies and quick adjustment back to normal life and our previous time zone. Jason starts back to class on Tuesday morning and we don't arrive home until late Monday afternoon.
Asanti Sanna! (Swahili for "Thank you very much!")
Much Love,
Meridith
