America

 

Chaos. Fear. Confusion. Pain.

Deep pain uncovered again.

Scabs ripped off.

Bleeding.

 

This is who we are

Who we’ve always been

A broken and bleeding nation.

 

We call it:

One Nation

Under God

Indivisible

With liberty and justice for all.

 

It’s a dream.

But it’s not reality.

It has never been the reality.

 

We are not a Christian nation.

We never have been.

Nor should we be.

 

Christianity is not a political ideology.

Christianity is not an earthly government.

Christianity is not about defending rights, but about laying them down for the good of others.

Christianity is about Christ. 

 

There is no Christian nation.

Except the kingdom of God.

 

And the kingdom of God consists of 

Every color

Every race

Every nationality

Every culture. 

 

Christianity is not about one nation.

It’s about knowing and following a Person.

 

This Person is God Himself:

Our Maker

Our Redeemer

Our Rescue.

 

We are 

A Split Nation

Placing ourselves as God

Divisible

Without liberty or justice for so many.

 

Christians

 

We have confused our faith

With nationalism and patriotism.

Our faith is NOT in a nation.

Our faith is in a Person. 

 

A Person who is LOVE embodied.

A Person who is King of all but became a servant to all. 

A Person who died for those who betrayed, mocked, and tortured Him. 

The very people HE created. 

 

The Only Person who is:

True Justice

Real Liberty

Lasting Peace

Selfless Love. 

 

The Only Person who can:

Heal our deepest wounds.

Stop our hemorrhaging.

Bring order to our chaos.

Restore His people:

 

NOT to a certain political ideology,

NOT to one Christian nation,

But to Himself,

And to each other. 

 

Christians of every 

Color

Nation

Language

Culture

 

We are called by our Creator to:

Be a light to the nations.

Bind up the brokenhearted.

Set captives free.

Break chains.

Release prisoners from their dungeons.

Bring hope to those in poverty.

Be rest for the weary.

Embody LOVE in our bodies. 

 

We MUST

Remember Who we are: 

We are CHRIST embodied in the world. 

 

We MUST

Remember Whose we are:

We belong WITH HIM and WITH EACH OTHER. 

 

We MUST 

Lay down our weapons

Of words and bullets.

 

We MUST 

Pick up our cross

Of sacrifice and love.

 

We MUST 

Remember that we don’t belong to a nation,

Or political ideals.

 

We MUST 

Remember that we belong to Jesus,

The founder and perfector of our faith.

 

Chaos. Fear. Confusion. Pain. 

Trauma uncovered again.

Wounds torn wide open. 

Bleeding.

 

Let us be Jesus in this bleeding world. 

 

Let us be the Calm in the midst of chaos.

Let us be the Refuge in the midst of fear.

Let us be the Clarity in the midst of confusion.

Let us be the Balm in the midst of pain. 

 

There is no Christian nation.

Except the kingdom of God.
