Another African Update
"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil... Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering: for He is faithful that promised." (Hebrews 10:19-20, 22-23)
Jason and I read the above passage together this morning after breakfast. What deep-rooted truth, strong admonition, and lasting encouragement! Although Paul was speaking to the Hebrews, the same applies to us today. We also have been given a new and living way, are consecrated by Christ, are able to draw near to Him and have full assurance of faith, have a clear conscience, are washed clean, can have an unwavering faith, and have the promise of God's faithfulness! There is so much challenge for life and encouragement for today in these verses.
The past couple of days have been absolutely incredible! We had the privilege of spending an afternoon, night, and morning at the Masai Mara and it was even more beautiful than I imagined. God's amazing creation leaves me without adequate words to describe it at times. We got to see elephants, giraffes (including a two day old baby!), zebras, lions (one eating a zebra :), a hyena, gazelles, antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, jackals, ostrich, rhinos, hippos... The sky was unbelievable, the food amazing, and our accommodations were fantastic. Anyway, you get the point - I highly recommend it! :)
We are now back in Nairobi and I'm already missing the beautiful countryside and the amazing mountains and valleys of Kenya. I'm also missing the fresh air that comes along with being outside of a busy and crowded city. :) However, I am thankful to be here and I'm looking forward to the opportunities of the next few days. There are so many things on my mind that I would like to write about, but we are about to have lunch and then head out for the day so I'll have to make it brief. Here are the highlights for those who are praying, or who just want to know...

- Today we are meeting with several doctors who have a lot of money and influence both here in Kenya and beyond. Several different religions and walks of life are represented in this group. Please pray for wisdom and opportunity to share Christ with these people. Pray for their hearts to be open to Him, and for our hearts to be sensitive to them and the Lord.
- There is still a lot of confusion and questions about this research project and how to spend the next year and a half. Please pray for clarity and direction for us as we continue to think, pray, and talk through all the various options.
- Please pray for some specific family requests that are on our minds and hearts...
- Jason's Dad (Ron) tripped and fell on Monday while carrying a load of construction supplies. From what we understand, his face is bruised up really badly and several of his teeth were knocked out. Please pray for recovery and medical details.
- My parents (Trent and Lori) are in the process of moving my grandparents down to TN from Missouri this coming week. Please pray for the details and moving to go smoothly
