Grandma Kummer

Hello to all friends, family, and prayer warriors, and strangers, :)

It's been a busy week since I've updated. I'm really looking forward to sitting down and writing a more in-depth post as soon as I get a chance. We're settling back into work, and are now enjoying time with family as Jason's parents have come to visit for a couple of weeks.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and is one of my favorite holidays. I love spending time with family, relaxing without guilt, sitting in front of the fire, cooking and eating amazing food, and re-focusing on the many things we have to be thankful for. While these things are not exclusive to this holiday, they make for a wonderful day when combined!

One of the main reasons for this update is an important prayer request for all of you prayer warriors out there. Jason's Grandma, Laura Kummer, is having open heart surgery tomorrow morning around 7am. She recently had several fainting episodes, and a heart cath revealed aortic stenosis. This means that the aortic valve of her heart has become too narrow and needs to be replaced. Grandma Kummer is 83 years old, beautiful, energetic, positive, and joyful. When Jason tells her he loves her, she always says "I know, you can't help it". :) Please pray for her safety; for the doctors to have wisdom and steady hands; and for quick and smooth recovery. Thank you so much!

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him. The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of His anointed." - Psalm 28:7-8
