Brief Life Update
I've been waiting to post until my scattered mind could put together some cohesive and helpful thoughts. However, after a week back in the States, my mind continues to be struggling with jet-lag, information overload, emotional exhaustion, and just general laziness. :) So... instead of the deep, thought-provoking post I planned, I shall instead give a brief update on our current life events. :)
This past week has been full of resting, grocery shopping, trying to get back into a routine, cooking, spending time with friends and family, celebrating my dad's birthday, re-adjusting to 12 hr shifts in the PICU, laundry, reading, relaxing by the fire with a cup of hot tea, helping my grandparents unload their U-haul, enjoying being back at Grace Community, singing and praying with women at Bible study, and just overall savoring this fall season. The transition back has had a lot of ups and downs already and will continue this way I'm sure. Overall though, we are doing well and are excited about the busy and fun days ahead. I'm hoping to update more on Thursday morning before we leave for Louisville for the weekend. We are going to the Global Health Missions Conference, which is always very encouraging, challenging, and exciting all at the same time. I'm sure it will give us even more to think, pray, and talk about!
I'd better get some rest now in preparation for another early morning and late night tomorrow. Jason was reminding me today that it is in the midst of the daily grind, (the ordinary day in the ordinary life) that God has the opportunity to show Himself strong if we only let Him. Praying for God to have His way in us and to show Himself strong.
"Thank you Lord, for your strength in the midst of my weakness, and your stillness in the midst of my hurry. Be my peace and my rock."
