The Shepherd and His Lamb
Jason recently told me this story and it has continued to stick with me, challenge me, and encourage me...
"When a Shepherd has a lamb that attempts to wander away from the rest of the flock, he will often break the legs of the little lamb. While the lamb's legs are broken, the shepherd will carry the lamb everywhere, often draped around his shoulders. Once the lamb's legs have healed, it will no longer wander from the shepherd, but instead will stay right by the shepherd's side for the rest of it's life. By staying at the shepherd's side, the lamb is forever protected from the wild animals and other dangers of getting lost or being away from the shepherd's protection and the rest of the flock."
Dear Lord,
"Make me hear joy and gladness,
that the bones You have broken may rejoice." (Psalm 51:8)
Amen
