Mother's Day

To the Mother who never got to hold her tiny baby.

To the Mother who once held her child, but whose arms are now empty.

To the Mother whose hands are full, but she is exhausted and overwhelmed by all the demands of life.

To the Mother who is gratefully watching her children play today.

To the Mother who is discouraged and wonders if she will ever find joy in motherhood.

To the Mother who has poured out her life for her children.

To the Mother whose journey is just beginning.

To the Mother who wonders if she will ever get to hold this littlest of ones in her womb.

To the Mother who longs to kiss her baby one more time.

To the Mother who feels guilty for being annoyed or frustrated with her children.

To the Mother whose children are grown, and she worries if she did anything right.

To the Mother who can no longer fix her child’s pain.

To the Mother whose child lives far away.

To the Mother who feels invisible and unappreciated.

To the Mother who is now a grandmother, or great-grandmother, and wonders if she is forgotten.

To the one who longs to see or call her Mother, but can’t.

To the one who long to be a Mother, but isn’t.

This day called ‘Mother’s Day’ is full of both abundant joy and great pain for so many. For each of you reading this, I want you to know...

You are loved.

You are valued.

You are beautiful.

You truly are a gift of grace to this world.

You are known.

You are going to be ok.

One day all wrongs will be made right, all tears will be gone, all imperfections covered, and all joy magnified.

Keep living for the One who made you, sees you, and loves you more than you even know.
