A random Thursday in March
It’s time to play.
It’s time to walk freely.
It’s time to dance.
It’s time to stretch and breathe and rest.
It’s time to try new outfits, rearrange the house, climb rock walls, play with my kids, share food with friends, make art, lay in the sunshine, and hike in the rain.
It’s time to read and read some more.
It’s time to write a little every day.
It’s time to camp under the starts, pay attention to my plants, re-connect with people I love, and write songs and poems.
It’s time to call myself an artist and believe it.
It’s time to pour compassion over myself and others.
It’s time to search for beauty as the hidden treasure it is.
It's time to listen for God's voice in the small moments.
It’s time to notice the deep colours of the flower, the design on the butterfly’s wings, the strength of the tree in the wind, and the sound of thunder’s melody.
It’s time to embrace seeming contradictions, constant tensions, and puzzles with missing pieces.
It’s time to live out all that I am – in the messes and unknowns and pain and joy.
It’s time to stare at the bird out my window, for no reason other than seeing.
It’s time to hear peoples' stories, because they matter.
It's time to share more of my story.
It’s time to light candles, play music, and enjoy romance again.
It’s time to pursue deeper friendship, make the first move, and snuggle my not-so-little babies.
Everyone told me “these are the days” when I was in college, then again when I was a newlywed, then again when I was giving birth to tiny babies.
But what I’m realising is that these are the days, right now, because these are the ones I’m currently living.
What days are you currently living? What is it time for you to be and do?
Beautifully said, Meridith! Wonderful sunshine 🌞 and high of 69 here today! I am celebrating the arrival of spring!!
